Farewell Ramadhan - A poem

A poem I came across and liked.

Drifting away
Gently with the tides,
Taking the blessed days and nights
With you, oh precious boat!

Won't you slow down a bit?
I've got so little of your gifts!

Stranded on the ground
Of this transient land,
Caught in the mirage
Nothing but heated sand
I embraced with both hands!

Only to discover
The gem of life,
Is shaped with
Days and nights of sacrifice.

When you make the trip next year
I ponder with tears
Will I still be around?

If this was the final treat,
I only hope I'm haven-bound

'Tempest Milky Way'

This amazing video I came across on National Geographic site.
Randy Halverson's timelapse video created in the plains of central South Dakota.
He's dubbed this video - 'Tempest Milky Way'

Bloodlines - Rachel Mead

A new paranormal series by Rachel Mead.
I hope this is better  than the Vampire Academy series.
I didn't like the main character in there,  Rose too much...and haven't completed the series.
But this whole new series, have the same characters from the VA series, including Adrain (I read somewhere) & set in the same world.

Anyway this is what goodreads says:

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood

Sounds interesting.

Today's window

I was just kind of solemnly gazing at my bare blog,
and of my not doing justice to the title I named it.

So I decided, I'm going to put (whenever possible) a 'window' open for me,
just to fantasize, and feel happy for and with myself.

And I'm going to post the most fairytale like one first.
This picture/painting is absolutely beautiful.
Its like the artist caught the essence of a poem no one could write.

Last 10 day count down.

The last 10 days are only left of Ramadhan.

Us siblings take these last 10 days off (You should see the expression and poor fight out tutor puts up. Including Dad who admits he hasn't a say in the matter) but its so much fun. Especially with the 'three' of us. The fight over the remote, and the invention of our games, smiling Sid and the Mole catching fish and then denying it? Priceless!

Two genuine quotes I wish to whisper to a child.

"All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it." — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (The Little Prince)

"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be." — Shel Silverstein

Moving house

Is there a thrill in moving? shifting into a new home?
Everyting has its pros and cons of course, but......sharing a room with three other siblings? and having no pool?
Not so great.
Anyway, we'll just have to do what we do best. Wait.and.see,what.happens.

Half way -

Half ways are...not exactly sad, but its when you reached the middle.
Now you know what was the climb like, and so the descent will be somewhat similar.
You sort of got the 'view'.
Only, if the hill you're climbing, and you don't know what's on the other side, and so when you reach the top, you're surprised, and then the anticipation is getting to it.
Now that sounds a little muddled up, right?
Think of this:
You climbed and trudged up a hill. When you reach the top you look over and Behold! its the great ocean! so you run with lighter feet to get down to the water and waves....
And this is what I think about when we reach the 15th Of Ramadhan. the anticipation of the climb we have indeed begun, now we're at the top, and Eid is in sight. Its just downhill now, and the ocean is our reward, a blessed day of -Eid ul Fitr.

But what a wonderful month.
Divine surely.
And how many times will I wish? year after year that I spend it in a divine place?
My climb will be anticipating the travel, the packing, the flying, the first sight, the first call to prayer, the first prayer, the first day, the first night, the second day, the second night, the third day...there will be no halfway, just continous soaring in the blessed lands of the Ancient House of the One God and the Mosque of the greatest man, Our Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu alayhi wa sallam. Peace, Peace & PEACE.
